Walk - Sam Frederick

Walk - Sam Frederick

First performed at the snowy February 26, 2011 rally by 13 year old Sam Frederick from Wauwatosa.

Walk-written by Sam Frederick, age 13, from Wauwatosa copyright 2011

I see the sun, setting on Wisconsin.
Another day is gone.
And the moon casts its dark shadow,
On the storm that’s riding in.

Refrain: On Wisconsin,
It’s our time
To rise up and take a stand.
Well, we can’t let Walker walk all over our land.

So whatever happened to our rights?
Why can’t we bargain, protest or speak our minds?
Since when are our rights alienable? Were we just blind to think that it wasn’t so?

Shouldn’t we be guaranteed our education and health care?
He said he would help us. Didn’t he swear
Or promise or declare on his honor he would?

No.
Refrain: On Wisconsin,
It’s our time
To rise up and take a stand.
Well we can’t let Walker walk all over our land.

Drifting in time
Stuck with Joe in ‘49
The rich getting richer
The poor have no voice
We’re getting desperate
But we still have a choice

Refrain: On Wisconsin,
It’s our time
To rise up and take a stand.
We can’t let Walker walk all over our land
On Wisconsin,
It’s our time
To rise up and take a stand.
Well it’s high time we walked Walker outta this land
